In recognition of your support, this year’s festival is FREE
Field Trip Information
School Groups must register online (limited to 600, currently full and any sign-ups will go on a waiting list).
Registration
- The festival will be able to accommodate a limited number of school field trips on Friday, October 8 at Berg Park from 9:30 to 2:00.
- Due to limited space, all groups over 10 people must register in advance for the Friday session at Berg Park.
- Reservations must be made by using the library’s eVanced reservation system (library events calendar www.infoway.org) If you are unfamiliar with this system, you may call the library at 566-2200 for assistance with registration. If your group shows up to the festival without registering first, you will be turned away.
- If space is filled, your group may be placed on a waiting list.
- Preference will be given to schools that did not have a visiting teller on Thursday, October 7.
- Confirmation will be given prior to the festival. If your field trip is confirmed, you will receive a packet containing your group’s wrist bands by Tuesday, October 5. The number of wrist bands you are given will be determined by the number of people you have included in your eVanced registration. Please do not forget to include parents and teachers when registering your group. Every member of your group must be wearing a wrist band to attend.
- Any cancellations must be made by Tuesday, October 5. If your group registers and does not show, this will affect the decisions of the Farmington Public Library for future school events.
Event
- The festival is an outdoor tent event at Berg Park. Please dress appropriately.
- Tents will be set up and your group may be walking from tent to tent.
- Seating will be provided in each of the tents.
- Tent monitors will be checking to make sure each group is wearing wrist bands. If your group is not wearing their wrist bands, they will be turned away.
Tent Etiquette
- So as to not disturb others, it is very important your group arrives on time, and does not leave during any of the storytelling sessions.
- Groups arriving late may not be seated.
- Any groups that are disruptive will be asked to leave, and will not be issued a refund.
- Seating in each tent is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Food
- There will be a break from 12:00 to 12:30 PM for lunch.
- Students should bring sack lunches as there will not be any vendors at the park during the festival.
Other Features
- Restrooms are available at Berg Park.
- Lost and Found will be available at the registration table.

- If one of your students is a youth storyteller, please contact the Farmington Public Library Youth Services Department at 599-1273 for information, or to volunteer to introduce your student during the festival.
