
Field Trip Information
REGISTRATION
- Due to limited space, reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. If space is filled, your group may be placed on a waiting list.
- Field trips day sessions for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are $5 per person.
- Cash, credit card, check, or purchase orders are acceptable payment methods. Make payable to Farmington Public Library. Payment is due by Wednesday, October 1, 2009. Pre-approved arrangements can be made for delivering payment to the festival by calling (505) 320-3955 (pre-approval deadline is Oct 1st, 2009).
- Field trip tickets will be available for pick at the Farmington Public Library starting Monday, October 5th. Remaining tickets will be available for pick up at the registration table at Berg Park. Please arrive early to allow time to pick up and distribute tickets for your group.
EVENT
- The festival is an outdoor tent event at Berg Park. Please dress appropriately.
- Tents will be set up and your group may be walking from tent to tent.
- Seating will be provided in each of the tents.
- Tent monitors will be checking teachers’ packets for tent assignments at each session, and will only allow groups into the tents they are assigned to.
SCHEDULE
- Brochures for the Storytelling Festival are available at the Farmington Public Library.
- Detailed schedule for Youth Storytelling will be available in September.
TENT ETIQUETTE
- So as to not disturb others, it is very important your group arrives on time, and does not leave during any of the storytelling sessions.
- Groups arriving late may not be seated.
- Any groups that are disruptive will be asked to leave, and will not be issued a refund.
- Seating in each tent is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
FOOD
- There will be a break from 12:00 to 12:30 PM for lunch.
- Students may bring sack lunches, and some food vendors may be available.
- Drinking water fountains are available throughout Berg Park.
- All groups are expected to clean up after themselves.
BOOKSTORE
- There will be a bookstore open during the festival on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
- Books, CDs, and other materials of the storytellers and other storytelling merchandise will be available for purchase.
OTHER FEATURES
- Restrooms are available at Berg Park.
- Lost and Found will be available at the registration table.
YOUTH STORYTELLERS
- If one of your students is a youth storyteller, please contact the Farmington Public Library Youth Services Department at 599-1273 for information, or to volunteer to introduce your student during the festival.
- If you have youth storytellers in your class, please do not include them in the "Total number attending" on the form during registration.
- A detailed schedule for Youth Storytelling will be available in September.
