Field Trip General Information

Dress appropriate for weather. The festival is an outdoor tent event at Berg Park. Fill out the information on the back of this paper before calling to reserve a place.

Busing students to the event?

Register early for the event. Sessions for the Friday Field Trip Day is $5 per person for a day of storytelling from 9:00 to 3:30. Youth storytellers from NM and throughout the Four Corners host Field Trip Day. There will be three tents and seating is provided, limited to 1,000.

What is the schedule for the event?

Brochures are available and a detailed schedule for Youth Storytelling on Friday Field Trip Day is available in September. The Field Trip Day is scheduled for Friday, October 10. Students who come to the Field Trip Day will receive a ticket to redeem for Saturday (day event) and invite their families. The students will need to bring the ticket to the registration table to receive a Saturday Day Pass.

Did you enter a Youth Storyteller for the Festival?

If you have a student telling a story and would like to introduce them, please let us know. Teachers who participated in preparing students for the Youth Storytelling event will receive an All Access Pass that includes the workshops. Teachers will need to pre-register for the workshop with the All Access Pass to receive a Workshop Ticket. Space is limited for tent and workshop events. Youth Storytellers telling at the festival will receive an all Access Pass for their families to the event that excludes the workshops. Youth Storytellers telling at the festival must pre-register for the workshop and receive their free ticket.

When is the Field Trip money due?

The money should be received before October 4, 2003. Purchase Orders can be made out to the Farmington Public Library FCSF. Credit cards are accepted.

When and where do I get the tickets?

All tickets will be waiting for you at the festival registration table. No tickets will be distributed before the event.

Tent Etiquette

Please arrive on time and do not leave in the middle of a storytelling session. Tent monitors will be checking for tickets and/or ribbon for each session. Keep your groups together and quiet.

Food

Bring a sack lunch if you like, but some food will be available. The Mayor’s Teen Advisory Council will be selling Popcorn and some snacks. A drinking water fountain is available throughout Berg Park.
