Scribner Writers Series - Over 1,500 essays offering a broad biocritical overview as well as specialized treatments on authors of all nationalities and time periods. Many authors are seen from multiple perspectives in two, three, or even four essays. Each essay includes a concise introductory preface and a biography placing the author's work within a personal and historical framework.
Twayne Authors Series - Literary criticism on nearly 600 authors. Primarily devoted to critical interpretation and discussion of authors's works, all titles feature a chronology, a biography, a comprehensive critical analysis, and an annotated bibliography.
