Space Place in a Snap!

NASA's Space Place is pleased to announce a new way to learn about science—Space Place in a Snap! These brief, narrated stories are engaging and entertaining, and they come with a downloadable poster, too. In our first episode, we tackle the question of how our solar system came to be the place it is today. Check it out: http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/solar-system-formation.

You can also find great interviews from our Space Place Live! series as well as Space Place in a Snap! at the NASA's Space Place You Tube channel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/nasaspaceplace?feature=watch.

Baby's First Laugh

a board book in youth services by author Beverly Blacksheep

Who will be the first to make baby laugh? The bilingual text (English and Navajo) and quiet, yet stunning, illustrations are centered on Navajo culture and features a Dine (Navajo) family. Other titles in this series of story/concept board books (numbers, colors, animals, seasons and more) include Baby Learn to Count and Baby Learns About Colors can also be found at the Shiprock Branch Library.

Carlos Solar, Hastings store manager invites you to share a book or two and take part in a scavenger hunt!

Snacks and Drinks will be provided by the Hardback Café!

Bayless Power Library

Boys & Girls Club members are encouraged to participate in the YOUTH Make.Do on December 28th from 2 to 4pm. Look for the club members to do something pretty awesome!

The Farmington Public Library at the Bayless Power Library assists the Boys & Girls Club of Farmington with the educational component that aims to ensure that all Club members graduate from high school on time and are ready for a post-secondary education and a 21st-century career. Researchers tell us programs like these help combat kids' summer learning loss, keep kids safe, inspire them to learn, and help working families.Powerlibrary@infoway.org (505) 566-1202.

The Power Library is open from 3pm to 6pm on Monday through Thursday. During no school days, the club is open from 10am to 3pm. Club Tech is scheduled on Tuesdays at 4pm and participants learn about digital art on the club's computers. Currently the club members are working on technology Lego projects for the Make.Do event at the library.
