January 17, 2012!
This event pointed out the continuum of services and education prenatal through career. CELEBRATING NEW MEXICO'S CHILDREN AND YOUTH DAYS, focused on the value and importance of getting all children and youth off to a great start and beyond. We used this day to connect with legislators and the Governor and all the members of the Executive on the importance of supporting children, youth and families.

| Senator Tom Udall and Mayor Tommy Roberts visited with Savannah Lesser at the Boys & Girls Club Bayless Power Library afterschool site and met with NM Afterschool Ambassador (alumni) Flo Trujillo Senator Udall received a math tutorial from two elementary students who asked him to introduce them to the Farmington Mayor! Senator Udall presented Savannah with a "United States Senate Certificate of Recognition" as the national winner of the Art on Label contest. |

In America today, 15.1 million children are alone and unsupervised in the hours after school. Afterschool for All brings together individuals and organizations from across the nation who support the vision that all children and youth deserve access to quality, affordable afterschool programs.
There are thousands of Afterschool for All partners including governors, mayors, police chiefs, parents, educators, universities and organizations, such as the YMCA of the USA, the NAACP, the National Council of La Raza, the National PTA, the National League of Cities, AARP, 100 Women in Hedge Funds, Time Warner, IBM, the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and the US Conference of Mayors.
