The Power Library is a branch library located inside the Farmington Boys & Girls Club and staffed by the Farmington Public Library. Approximately 2,500 books are available for checkout with a Farmington Public Library Card. The 12 computers are used for club tech classes, homework, online research and Internet.
Summer Reading and Power Hour is a program offered during the summer and after school. The JCPenney Afterschool Fund brings POWer Hour- A proven homework program-to Boys & Girls Clubs Nationwide
POWER HOUR ACTIVITIES
- Decorate a Portfolio (file folder) andkeep with you during Power Hour
- Use monthly Power Hour Chart, fill in the date
- Check off Homework, Power Hour page High Yeild Activity (Thursday)
- Add up your Power Hour Points anf file your Portfolio
- If you mom or teacher comes to the club, show your portfolio
Everyone must have a Portfolio to use a computer. Computer time is set up for 30 minutes. Everyone must do a Power Hour page, homework or read before using a computer, unless computer is used for typing homework.
