
Walmart Foundation Bright Spot for Reading Initiative for Adolescent Readers Implementation
Tweens decorated a Graphic Novel giant bookmark to decorate the club; Tweens and teens set up a bulletin board of their favorite books to read at the club. Teens decorated green balloons with bright spot labels.
Recognition and Incentives in motivating reluctant members.
Club members registered online for the summer reading program, read 15 books during the summer months to receive a t-shirt from the Farmington Public Library. Having non-fiction books displayed on their favorite sports and graphic novels and submitting suggestions to purchase items for their club library was an incentive and motivation.
Club members registered for summer reading- Total of 856 Farmington Public Library cards by club members (Library card drive promotion)
- 339 Book Reviews were submitted online on their summer reading record
- 1801 books were read during the summer with 988 online summer reading registrations for club members

- The Power Library in the club encouraged a book drive with 305 books collected for the teen collection.

- Programs for teens with art projects to gaming.
