Just like the other books you check out from the library, when you check out and download a book you will have 28 days to use that title before it expires. If the downloadable title you want is already checked out, you can place a hold, just like other library materials. There are currently thousands of titles available to download. Titles include both fiction and nonfiction, and there are books for children, teens, and adults. Farmington Public Library will continue to add more titles, so be sure to let us know what you want using the “recommend to order” section of our online catalog.
Unlike other library items, check outs and returns of downloaded books can be managed through any computer, using the library’s download web site. To make use of this collection even more convenient, downloadable books can be accessed remotely 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
At the Library
Stop by the library today to check out and download an audio book to your portable device, using any of the library’s computers. All you need is your library card and PIN, plus a portable device such as an MP3 player, a SmartPhone, or even a zip drive. In 4 easy steps, you can check out and download up to five audiobooks! Some audio book titles even allow burning to CD.
At Home
When you access the library’s downloadable books from home, you can check out and download eBooks as well as audio books. In fact, you can check out titles from anywhere in the world, and they will remain in your account for the entire checkout period. Imagine being on vacation and realizing you’ve just finished your last audio book. Simply go online from any computer, browse the library’s online catalog, check out and download audio books for your return trip. It’s that simple!
