Petroglyphs

All the petroglyphs in the building are copies of actual petroglyphs found throughout San Juan County.  They are a mixture of Navajo and Anasazi glyphs, as well as a few Spanish markings.  Dr. Hugh Rogers acted as a consultant on all the petroglyphs so we didn’t inadvertently use any symbols that are sacred to the Navajo people. Aztec Media photographed the originals and created the digital artwork of the petroglyphs for use in creating the etched glass.

The enclosed glass panels that surround the southwest conference room is from a pattern called “Teec Nos Pos,” a phrase which means “Round Tree” in Navajo.
